~Archery Practice

It was a beautiful afternoon at the forest of East Windy Plains. Although the sun was brightly shining it was still somewhat cold in the forest, Yvoone, a sixteen year old forest girl had decided to train her archery a little, she was searching a good training spot. She knew the forest pretty well but she didn't want to practice around some her favorite spots, first thing was that she didn't want to ruin them with her arrows but the second was that there were almost always some weak friendly creatures around there and she didn't want to disturb them. As she kept on walking about ten or fifteen minutes she finally found a pretty good training spot. It was a small clearing like spot with a lot of trees and bushes around, there was one tree sticking out and Yvoone decided to try and shoot it. She loaded her bow with an arrow, pulled back the string but right before the firing she managed to damage her fingers with the bowstring. The arrow flying off but its trajectory was off and it flew into small bush. As Yvoone didn't care much about the misaimed arrow she looked at her finger. Only a little blood came out so it wasn't much of a big deal. Suddenly she heard noise from the bush and imminently turned her head towards it. A small goblin walked out from the bush, making aggressive noise while waving the club in it's right arm. It had an arrow in his shoulder. Yvonne understood that it had been her arrow that had hit it's shoulder so she tried to apologize, "I am very sorry. I didn't know that there were monsters here." The goblin only kept waving it's club when suddenly two more goblins popped out of nowhere.

Yvonne looked the three goblins. As she had lived in forest for a lot of years now she had developed instincts and knew that this wasn't going to end good. "So truce?" asked the girl. The goblins didn't react to girl's words at all. They started running towards the young woman with a desire to kill. Yvonne knew that outrunning them would be very difficult, during the running they might even call for more monsters so the only thing she could now do was to kill or at least knock them out. She quickly drew another arrow and fired it towards the goblin who she had shot earlier. This time it hit it's chest but the goblin still kept running towards the girl. Now that the distance was half it originally had been girl knew what she had to do. She quickly drew another arrow, once again firing it towards the injured one. Before that one could hit Yvonne was already drawing another arrow and fired that aswell. One arrow hit goblin's left leg and another one stomach. The goblin dropped on ground, Yvonne couldn't really tell if it was dead or not. Now there was at least one less running after her. Knowing that if she would simply start backing away the goblins would catch up to her so she decided to turn around and started running towards a tree. She quickly drew her copper dagger and threw it pretty high into a tree. She then made a very strong leap, jumping little above the throw dagger. She quickly wrapped her hands around the tree but at the moment she also hit her head. She calmly slid herself downwards, putting one of her feet on a dagger that was struck deeply inside the tree.

Now that she had somewhat good foothold on the tree she gently turned herself around. She wasn't confident enough to let go of the tree because her strength wasn't all that great and she doubted that the dagger itself could carry her body weight. Still her grip on the tree wasn't so strong anymore. She quickly let go for a second with her left hand, the hand she was holding her bow at, and put the wooden part of it in her mouth. Once that was done she wrapped her hands around the tree again, looking for a stronger looking branch of some kind so she could start attacking the goblins. There was a pretty strong one looking at the reach of her hand but with her current body strength there was no way she could throw herself at it so she only grabbed it with her left hand so it would support her body weight. She unwrapped the right arm and drew a arrow. She threw her arrow at the goblin as hard as she could. Then took out another one and threw it again and about ten of them in a row all aimed at a single goblin until it dropped down. As she already wanted to pick the next target the dagger that had been struck into tree suddenly started sliding out, making Yvonne hang on a branch with only her left hand. She couldn't her her body so she let go, falling down on the ground. The goblin was pretty pissed and knew it was his chance now, hitting the girl with his club. Although Yvonne was already rather tired and now pained she ran away from the goblin. She pulled her bow from her mouth and loaded another arrow on it, firing it towards the goblin while still running backwards. She then drew another arrow and shot it until the last one of them was on the ground.

Yvonne was somewhat relieved, still she couldn't leave the creatures on the ground like that. She removed their arrows and put some pain revealing leaves on top of their wounds. Non of them were dead, just unconscious. She then ran away, thinking that she had enough practice for that day. She was very tired from that constant shooting and running.
